Who we are
Our first experiments initially were just for fun. The starting point was our passion for unconventional materials, especially old bicycle inner tubes; they can be found in abundance and have high creative potential. We were interested in taking a waste product and turning it into new, useful and beautiful objects.
In 2008, fuelled with a desire to experiment, we began to make our first prototypes. Ideas have taken shape, and have become bags, wallets, belts, all strictly made by hand. The fundamentals of the creative process are careful, formal search and accurate testing of waste materials which leads to organic results.
In 2009, we presented our first collection at fairs and events related to self-production and independent design. In 2010, we opened our store-workshop in Turin, Italy.
All products are produced by us, this means removing ourselves from the mass market, the development of business and the homogenization of the product for a more concrete expression of individuality, creativity and ethical responsibility. In 2012, Wired magazine included mnmur in it’s list of Italy’s 100 greenest companies.
We find inspiration in travel and in exploration of urban spaces. We love reading and cinema, we like abandoned factories and vintage objects that we collect to display next to our products. We have our own particular way of approaching our work: we are practical but also open to imagination, alert and flexible, dreamers with our feet on the ground. We are willing to confront, to share ideas and projects: we like to create moments of exchange to enable us to grow and learn.
